I’ve been working on a small RC car that I want to use as a platform for an infrared illuminator. I’m planning to mount an infrared camera on it and try to take video from inside a rabbit warren near my house. I stripped down the chassis to the bare bones and want to replace the operating headlights with infrared illuminators because I think regular light would disturb the rabbits. I put tank treads on it instead of wheels so it should have good traction and mobility. I think that once it stops moving for a while, the rabbits would go back to their normal activity patterns and I could get some really cool footage especially with and infrared illuminator! I’m not sure how far in the car can go before it loses the wireless connection the video receiver and the remote control. I may need to add a trailing wire antenna to extend the range.
